Sue A. James, MS, RDN, LDN, is founder and president of Pinnacle Health & Wellness, a consulting firm that provides health, wellness, and sports nutrition programming to businesses and schools. She has over twenty-five years of experience working in the sports nutrition and wellness field. She has been the team nutritionist for the 2001 World ChampionBaltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and Johns Hopkins Athletics. She is also the Chief of the Nutrition and Food Services department for the VA Maryland Health Care system. She has been working in various roles at the Department of Veterans Affairs since 2000.
James has presented at The White House launching a Wellness Seminar Series and the Healthier U.S. Fitness Challenge. She has been a contributor to the NFL's Play 60 website which is dedicated to improving the health of children throughout the United States. She is a registered dietitian nutritionist and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), and the Academy's Sports, and Human Performance Nutritionists, in which she has held several leadership positions.
James is an advisory board member of the University of Maryland's College Park Dietetic Internship Program and has served on the Sports Nutrition Advisory Panel for the American Dairy Association Northeast. She has volunteered with Gigi's Playhouse, Special Olympics, and the Wounded Warrior Project. James received her MS degree in nutrition with a focus in sports nutrition from Georgia State University and her BS in nutrition from Purdue University. James is a fitness and sports enthusiast who has participated in a variety of fitness and running events. She believes that being active, loving what you do, and everything in moderation are the keys to living well.
